A Kiwifruit Income Story
Two quality SunGold™ kiwifruit orchards located in the eastern Bay of Plenty.
The smaller of the two orchards, Whistler Orchard, comprises 3.38 cha of Sungold™ kiwifruit and is located in the Tablelands area just east of Opotiki. This area is acknowledged as one of the top producing kiwifruit orchard locations in New Zealand.
The larger orchard, Sausalito Orchard, is located on elevated land on the western side of Opotiki at Waiotahi, and comprises 6.24 cha of Sungold™ kiwifruit and 1.1 cha of green Hayward kiwifruit. This area is also considered to be a very good location for growing kiwifruit, and this orchard has scope for increased productivity.
