Dairy Investment – Why now?

As you may be aware, MyFarm last syndicated a dairy property in 2014 and have since diversified into the horticulture industry.

Recently we held a webinar in our “Summer Series” – Dairy Investment – Why now? During this lunchtime session, Andrew Watters explained how MyFarm has the confidence to re-enter this sector and why we are so passionate about this industry.

Con Williams then explored the outlook of the dairy industry through a high-level presentation we have included for you below.

We were also fortunate to be joined by Canterbury dairy farmer, Athol New, from Tullba (Dairy Farm Management Company) who summarised their objectives “to generate good outcomes both for the environment, our cows and our people”. MyFarm and Tullba are looking to enter in a lease arrangement together, and Athol describes why this model will work for them, and what Tullba are looking to achieve out of the Partnership.

For anyone with an interest in the dairy sector and it’s potential, we recommend you have a listen.

Building resilience in the food and fibre sector

The food and fibre sector is an important driver of economic activity in New Zealand and a significant source of export earnings. It also has the potential to contribute to the government’s growth and export goals. Recent developments in US tariff policy are in the process of redefining global trade relations, creating threats and opportunities for those in the sector. To take best advantage, participants should be looking to diversify into new markets, while simultaneously looking at ways to maximise cost efficiencies.
